The ideal of the Benedictine Personality is not the mover and shaker, not the person with an extraordinary religious endowment,not the great ascetic, not even the mystic, but the Wise and Mature person who understands how to create unity among people, who radiates an aura of peace and mutual understanding.
Only he can do that who has created peace within himself, who has been reconciled with himself, with his weaknesses and faults, with his needs and desires,with his Contradictory Tendencies and aspirations.
